Act Now to STOP Expansion of Sub-Minimum Wage!

We are asking you to e-mail or call your senators regarding the reauthorization of the Workforce Investment Act! Tell them Section 511 should be removed from the bill prior to the HELP Committee’s markup on July 20. Please read on to learn more about this bill, and the concerns that must be addressed!

Arne Duncan to Deliver Commencement for D.C. Students with Disabilities Who Completed Job Skills Program

In an e-mail from the White House today, it was announced that U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan will deliver the commencement address at a graduation ceremony here in Washington, D.C. The ceremony is being held for 25 D.C. high school students who have participated in Project Search, a program that aims to connect students with disabilities with real world skills through local employment in federal agencies, including the Departments of Education, Labor and Health and Human Services.

TASH Joins Collaborative on Youth Transition

There is strength in numbers. We know that TASH members collectively promoting equity, opportunity and inclusion make a greater impact through our unity and shared values. Similarly, TASH partners with other organizations that share our values in an effort to strengthen advocacy, expand resources and promote a shared vision. The latest such partnership has been formed through the National Youth Transitions Collaborative, a group of organizations committed to serving youth and returning veterans with disabilities.
