Kate Gainer
Kate Gainer has been a major force for social justice in Georgia and throughout the U.S. for many years. She’s the founder of the Long Road Home Project, which raises awareness of the Olmstead Decision in Georgia. Kate has been involved in numerous grassroots initiatives that create equity, hope and opportunity in the disability community. An accomplished advocate and speaker, Kate shares her experiences as a black woman in the South born with cerebral palsy.
Rob Horner
Few individuals have contributed to their respective field to the extent of Rob Horner. Rob is the co-founder of school-wide positive behavior support and is a leading figure in sustainable school reform. A gifted speaker with a knack for getting to the heart of what’s important, Rob is a visionary with a unique ability to bridge research, policy and practice. He is currently a professor of special education at the University of Oregon.
John O’Brien
The pioneer of person-centered planning, John O’Brien has spent decades improving the relationship between the service provider and the individual served. His work has dramatically impacted the way the needs of the individual are identified and responded to. John advises people with disabilities, their families, advocacy groups, service providers and governments on fostering inclusive communities where the needs, interests and preferences of every individual are valued.
