Missouri TASH: First Event a Success!

Missouri TASH held its first formal event February 8 in St. Louis, Missouri (photos below!). The film Including Samuel was shown and a discussion followed. Approximately 35 attendees were present and information was provided on TASH membership, future events, inclusive Missouri organizations and various resources. It was a great night and we look forward to more film events throughout the state. The next scheduled screening is in Columbia, Missouri, in April. This event was co-sponsored with the Ethical Society of Greater St. Louis and SSD Parent Education.

Missouri-TASH is currently working on a response statement for a petition that has formulated titled, “Protect Sheltered Workshops” out of Missouri. We will be collaborating with other agencies and individuals in spreading awareness regarding this topic and petition, including participating in Disability Rights Legislative Day on April 9th in Jefferson City.
