SWIFT Center brings together States, Districts, and School for Inaugural Professional Learning Institute

During the week of July 22-26 hundreds of educators will convene on Washington DC for the inaugural Professional Learning Institute (PLI) hosted by the SWIFT Center. Teams from each of the 5 SWIFT states—made of up school, district, and state department representatives—will gather for the week-long Institute. The PLI will be the first in-depth look into the SWIFT framework as well as the first opportunity for these teams to examine their own strengths and assets prior to SWIFT implementation.

Participants will explore the SWIFT framework through content specific presentations from each of the SWIFT teams as well as additional experts. TASH will presenting several sessions on policy alignment. These sessions will focus on the core principles of policy alignment as well as highlighting specific examples of policy alignment successes. In addition, staff from several of the Knowledge Development Centers will provide their expertise for the full group. Every state team will leave the PLI with an initial technical assistance plan for the coming school year.
