Position Announcement – University of Missouri – St. Louis

The College of Education at the University of Missouri – St. Louis seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Special Education. The primary purposes of this position are: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, working with practicum students in community organizations and partner schools, contributing to scholarship through publications and presentations, advising students, participating in discipline-specific and college service, conducting an active research agenda, and securing external grant funding.

The candidate in this position will teach a required number of student credit hours per academic year, as determined by the College of Education and department chair. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The College is NCATE accredited, and graduates are certified as teachers through Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

This is a benefits-eligible, full-time, tenure-track, nine-month position with an anticipated start for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Requirements: Applicants must have an earned doctorate by August 2015 in Early Childhood Education (ECE) with demonstrated competencies in Special Education, or a doctorate in Special Education with demonstrated competencies in ECE.

It is preferred that the candidate has experience teaching college courses in Early Childhood Education and/or Special Education and/or possess at least 2 years of successful teaching in an early childhood context.
