Position Announcement (Vermont): Division Director for Developmental Disabilities

The Department of Disabilities, Aging and Independent Living has an opportunity for a new Division Director to lead the developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injury state team. This newly created position requires someone with strong leadership skills as well as the ability to work autonomously to identify and implement process improvements, expand outreach to people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries, and create safe and supportive communities. Vermont has long been a national leader in community-based services for people with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries. The person in this position will have wide license to support our continued innovation. A $170 million budget makes this one of Vermont’s largest human service programs. It is an ideal opportunity to lead Vermont’s developmental services state team, to help our designated agencies sustain a high level of service, and keep Vermont’s values of independence strong. We seek a person with proven leadership in human services, healthcare or education program management. Professional experience in developmental disabilities program services and supervision of professional staff is required. Starting salary may be negotiated based on education and experience.
