Message from TASH Leadership

Since 1975, TASH has been at the forefront of the movement to advance inclusion in schools, workplaces and communities for individuals with disabilities, especially those with the most significant support needs. As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, we honor our past and embrace the challenge of the future as we continue to support evidence-based policies and practices that enable all people with disabilities to have the opportunities to fulfill their potential and be included. Inclusion is a fundamental value that we will continue to fight for.

We are living in unprecedented times with upheavals in our economy and federal government that impact the day-to-day lives of people with disabilities, family members, direct support professionals and frankly everyone to some extent. As an organization, TASH is impacted when federal programs are paused or ended.

With all of this in mind, we ask you to consider making a Fiscal Year End (by June 30) donation to TASH to help us continue our core work, which includes supporting and disseminating research that translates to best practices, advocating for policies and programs that benefit people with disabilities, and providing virtual and in-person opportunities for members and allies to learn from one another.

TASH and our members make a difference through our journals, RPSD and Inclusive Practices, our advocacy work in Washington, DC and across the country, and through our educational events including a webinar series, the Disability Law symposium, and of course our annual TASH Conference.

Your donation will help us move forward in the upcoming Fiscal Year to remain a strong voice for policies and practices that improve lives and strengthen communities. We thank all our loyal members and allies for your generous support.

With appreciation,

The Take Action logoTASH Policy Advocacy

On May 22nd, the House of Representatives passed the “Big Beautiful Bill Act” — and with it, devastating cuts to Medicaid totaling over $800 billion. If it becomes law, the bill will result in the largest cut to Medicaid in history, with over 13 million people losing their healthcare. The bill now moves to the Senate. This is an opportunity to make your voice heard. Several Republican Senators have already expressed their deep reservations about cuts to Medicaid. Contact your Senators and tell them: Don’t cut Medicaid. You can reach your Senate offices by calling the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121, to be transferred directly to their office.
