Position: Director of Development
Description: TASH seeks to hire its first full-time Director of Development in January 2013 to plan and implement fundraising programs and activities consistent with TASH’s mission and priorities. The Director of Development will be responsible for planning, executing, managing, and evaluating all fundraising efforts at TASH, including grant writing, annual giving, major gifts, development and stewardship of donors, corporate sponsorship, planned giving, and fundraising events. S/he will participate in organization’s fiscal planning, formulate strategies and identify funding sources and opportunities that embrace the organization’s goals, cultivate and maintain contacts with funding entities and individuals, and prepare proposals for potential grant and funding opportunities. In addition, s/he will oversee all donor correspondence and external communications with the assistance of the Program Assistant. This position works closely with the Executive Director, Operations Manager, Board of Directors, Communications Manager, Development Committee, and the President’s Circle.
Qualifications: Five or more years of development experience and a bachelor’s degree is required. A familiarity with disability funders is a plus. Must have demonstrated, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, computer and written and verbal communication skills. TASH offers a flexible work schedule. While meetings will be in-person, this is largely a telecommuting position. Some evenings and occasional weekends may be required.
