The University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Education invites qualified professionals to apply for a full- time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure track faculty position in Special Education. Applicants must have an active BCBA license by the start date. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, and help to assign adjunct instructors to a selection of courses within his/her areas of expertise. Fulfilling the position duties is based on a nine-month academic year contract that begins in Fall 2018. The University of Missouri – St. Louis is an equal opportunity institution. Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (both face-to-face and online), commensurate with the faculty member’s expertise
Academically-advise and support the students served by the University of Missouri – St. Louis (UMSL)
Guide students in UMSL’s BCBA in the leadership position of BACB Verified Course Sequence coordinator
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of the institution and the academic unit
Collaborate with area schools and/or community agencies
Demonstrate/support the College’s dedication and commitment to culturally-responsive practices and social justice
Serve on committees at the university and college level, as well as in the community
Required Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in special education or related field of study by the start date
Demonstrated expertise in one or more curricular areas aligned with this position description
Documented evidence of sustained, high-quality professional productivity
Documented evidence of teaching excellence and contribution to student development
Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into teaching including experience teaching online courses
Active BCBA license, or willingness & ability to obtain BCBA license by 8/5/18
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years teaching in a K-12 setting
Experience of collaborative curricular development
Documented experience of successful teaching in higher education
Active BCBA license
Expectations:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the position duties in a professional manner and abide by the collected Rules and Regulations of the University System. He or she will report directly to the Chair of the Educator Preparation, Innovation and Research (EPIR) Department.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. This is a full-time 100% FTE benefits-eligible position. This position has no rights to tenure at the University of Missouri- St. Louis. Appointment is a nine month, non-tenured faculty position.
