This is part 4 of 6 in ANCOR and TASH’s Summer 2015 series, Stepping Up to the Promise and the Spirit of the Home and Community Based Waiver: Person-Centered Planning, Thinking, and Doing.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n 1:00-2:00 PM Eastern, Wednesday, 8 July 2015<\/p>\n This webinar focuses on considerations necessary for clarity around the important issue of supporting another to maximize the degree of control they have over their own destiny. Toward this end, participants will:<\/p>\n Participants will:<\/p>\n Anyone interested in insuring that people with impact of disability have the ultimate degree of control over their own life, including day-to-day and life-defining decisions.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At a young age, Hope Dittmeier<\/strong> worked at an institution for people with disabilities. That experience fueled her PASSION to work the past 35 years to identify and create options for people with disabilities to enjoy a lifestyle and quality of life that matches that of other citizens. In 1986, Hope was introduced to Social Role Valorisation (SRV)<\/a> and has been a student and teacher of this THEORY of practice since. Her primary focus is on the application of SRV to service design and implementation. Another major influence on Hope’s work has been her sister-in-law Ann, who despite dire predictions at birth, has enjoyed being an employee, homeowner, aunt, neighbor, honored volunteer, friend, and choir member. Ann, along with 21 people supported by Realizations, have given Hope practical EXPERIENCE designing and providing high quality, personalized supports.<\/p>\n Hope holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. She has served as family support specialist, regional planner, behavior specialist, Founder\/CEO of Realizations, and international trainer\/consultant. She recently became the Director of Service Innovation at Mattingly Center<\/a> in Louisville, Kentucky.<\/p>\n This is a live webinar that will be streamed over the web. The presentation will be about fifty minutes, followed by ten minutes for Q&A.
