A Letter from Kelly R. Kelley, President, NCTASH Board of Directors
Dear NCTASH Board Members, NCTASH Members, and Other Interested Persons:
On Friday October 10th we will host a two-part meeting on the Western Carolina University campus open to all persons who are interested in discussing current issues in North Carolina related to the lives of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Part 1 will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and will be an open forum for professionals, family members, advocates, and self-advocates to report on current activities and needs they are involved in or they are observing. Reports may be made on current research activities, teacher education, school and community practices, policy development or implementation, or other relevant issues. This will be a wide-open forum in which we will attempt to document a broad picture of relevant issues in the state. Lunch will be served to all attendees. For those who wish to participate but cannot physically attend, a call in line will be available.
The second part of the day will occur from 1:00 until 4:00 and will constitute a meeting of the NCTASH Board of Directors, but will also be open to all attendees. During this session, the NCTASH Board will identify specific priorities for the state, form NCTASH committees to develop plans to address the issues, identify chairs and initial members of these committees, and begin to develop action plans that will be used to guide the achievement of specific outcomes. Chairs of these committees will be charged with taking actions to implement plans and provide feedback to the NCTASH Board.

- If you plan to attend in person or would like to attend via a call-in line,
- If you intend to make a presentation or make a statement during Part 1 of the session and if so, a title for your presentation (and anticipated length or technology needs)
- If you plan to participate in the NCTASH Board meeting, and
- If you have any special requests or restrictions for lunch.
