Conference Program
To get support with the Conference program, join the TASH Virtual Information Desk Zoom link. Staff member will be on the meeting and available to help you with any questions.
Online Conference Program
TASH publishes the Conference schedule through an interactive website that allows attendees to explore the schedule like never before! Attendees can search the entire conference schedule, all speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and other attendees. Attendees can also personalize their schedule and share it with friends and colleagues. The conference schedule is available through any web browser or on the conference app that attendees can download to their mobile phones.
Large-Print Conference Program
TASH also produces a large-print program. If you need this version, someone from the TASH Virtual Information Desk can e-mail you a PDF of it.
Captioning and ASL Interpreting
Captioning will be provided for all sessions. American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting is provided when requested by attendees in advance of the Conference. The ASL interpreter will be one of the panelists who will appear in the video gallery in the sessions that you attend.
Cultural Accessibility
TASH works to ensure that all conference content is representative of all diverse backgrounds. To this end, we encourage presenters to share information that is reflective of experiences of individuals and families of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds within their presentations. In addition, the conference features many presentations that focus on Diversity and Cultural Competency as their primary topic.
Strobing and Flashing Content
A number of people with disabilities have co-occurring photosensitive epilepsy so it is critically important to the safety of our attendees that you refrain from use any rapid cuts or flashing in media in your presentation, etc. Also, some rapid audio beats can have a similar effect, so if in doubt, do not include such media in presentations.
Loud Noise
Some events at the conference will include music, amplified audio or other loud noise. Attendees will be able to control the volume on their individual session.
Statement of Mutual Respect
In order to safeguard the values that make the TASH Conference so special, it is important that we communicate TASH’s commitment to providing an atmosphere of mutual respect, free from harassment, for participants of all physical and intellectual abilities, physical appearances, behavioral support needs, body sizes, races, national origins, gender and trans identities, sexual orientations, ages, family and marital statuses, veteran status, and beliefs, whether religious, political or otherwise. Harassment includes, but is not limited to: deliberate intimidation; stalking; unwanted photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; disparaging or disrespectful remarks, inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. We ask everyone to be mindful of how you interact with others – and to remember that harassment is not about what you intend, but about how your words or actions are received.
With this year’s Conference being virtual, it is especially important to emphasize that what is said and done online – on twitter, Facebook, Instagram, instant messaging, e-mail, video conferencing, etc. – is just as real, and as potentially harmful, as what transpires in-person.
Disciplinary Action
By attending the TASH Conference, you agree to maintain and support our conference as a harassment-free space. If you feel that someone has harassed you or otherwise treated you inappropriately – or you have witnessed inappropriate or harassing behavior – please alert any member of the TASH staff (identifiable by STAFF badges or TASH shirts). If an attendee engages in disrespectful behavior, the Conference staff may take any lawful action we deem appropriate, including but not limited to warning the offender or requiring the offender to leave the Conference. No refunds will be offered to anyone asked to leave the Conference for disrespectful behavior.
The culture of the TASH Conference is everyone’s responsibility
One of the defining characteristics of the TASH Conference is that everyone contributes to making a welcoming, supportive environment. Please do not let someone in need of support go unassisted; if a need is greater than you can address yourself, please ask for assistance, either from other Conference attendees or TASH staff.
