If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to make your voice heard in Washington, there’s no better time than our upcoming Capitol Hill Day. We’re bringing together the TASH Board of Directors and advocates from across the county on June 17 to highlight important policy positions. It’s a perfect time to address these issues with your senator and representative. We’ve also planned a series of training webinars to build capacity and confidence in being an effective advocate. If you can’t make it here to DC on June 17, we urge you to consider visiting your senate and house offices in your state on that day.
We’ll be asking Congress to take action on the following priorities:
• Restraint and seclusion prevention in public schools
• The right to save assets for future goals
• Access to employment opportunities
• Passage of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
