TASH Member June Downing Leaves a Legacy

We are honored to announce a recent bequest from beloved member June Downing. June was a longtime contributor to TASH, giving generously of her time and resources throughout her life. She believed passionately in TASH’s mission of promoting the full inclusion and participation of children and adults with disabilities and eliminating the social injustices that diminish human rights. June’s humor, expert teaching, keen intellect, rigorous research and caring influence were remembered by a host of friends and colleagues at our TASH Conference in December, and continue to be experienced and felt by us all. Her gift will help us to advocate for human rights and inclusion for people with significant disabilities and support needs.

Bequests play an important role in our ability to achieve our mission. A bequest—a provision in one’s last will and testament where a gift of property is transferred from an estate to a charitable organization—allows you to perpetuate your life interest and influence into the future. As you create or review your estate plan, we hope you will include TASH in your will or trust. This allows you to make your own decisions about who will receive your assets, while reducing the tax burden on your estate and leaving a legacy for future generations.  Members may also contribute to TASH in memory of June here on our website (click the orange Donate button). Members interested in learning more about including TASH in your will may contact Barb Trader at btrader@tash.org.
