TASH Submits Comments to Long Term Care Commission

The Commission on Long-Term Care was established under Section 643 of the American Taxpayer Relief Act, which was signed into law January 2013. This commission is charged with developing a plan for the “establishment, implementation and financing of a comprehensive, coordinated and high-quality system that ensures the availability of long-term services and supports.”

The commission, which is composed of 15 members, held its final hearing on August 20, and is currently meeting to develop recommendations for Congress. At the request of the commission – which invited comments from individuals and group – TASH developed and submitted its comments for consideration on August 19. The support needs of people with disabilities will be deeply impacted by the quality of the commission’s report to Congress. You can read TASH comments in full below.
